Order of the Engineer - "The Order of the Engineer was initiated in the U.S. to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the Engineer."  Those who wear the engineering ring take an oath, similar to that taken by medical graduates.  The Obligation of the Engineer sets forth a lifelong code of ethics for the profession.
